Before my daughter was born in 2005, I was so misguided, drifting along with no real purpose or reason to my life. I was depressed, reckless, and partied a lot. Couldn’t hold a job, and for the life of me, I have no idea why my wife stayed with me through it all! I didn’t realize it at the time, but things were pretty bad.

I never wanted kids previously. Never in a million years! But once I found out my wife was pregnant, after the initial hesitation to have a child passed, something in the bottom of my heart knew that it was the right time, and the right thing to do. Once I held her for the first time my life changed forever. I cleaned myself up, straightened my life out, and became a better person, because I suddenly had a reason to live. I wanted to see my daughter grow and be beautiful, and I wanted to be there for it all. I wanted to be the best person I could be for her.

She is almost 10 now. My life hasn’t been perfect of course. I still struggle with drinking, but I have a reason to be sober now, and I will never go back to that dark place again. I have maintained a bookkeeping career for six years, and my personal relationships have never been better. I love to spend every minute I can with Shay. Playing video games, snowboarding, going on adventures, or just hanging out. She is the biggest reason I am so focused on building a business online. I want to have the money and time freedom to spend as much time with her as possible. I want to give her everything, take her everywhere, and never let money hold her back from anything she wants to do. She inspires me to be a better person and I love her more than words can say.
